Simple Cello - it's less feature-rich, but it has a beautiful and delicate sound to it. It is beautiful for passionate and expressive phrases but i have a hard time with quiet and delicate phrases, or very pure ones with low vibrato. I have read that the Tina Guo library have a Vol.2 update which should contain more articulations, but I haven't been able to read much reviews on it and if it's worth it? The part of it being able to blend in well with other vst string instruments is an important factor to consider as well, since I already have the Joshua Bell Violin, I would like if the cello would be able to blend in well with that one (and just a string quartet/orchestra in general).īased on my current research, I have found that Emotional cello from Best service and also the Tina Guo legato who has got a lot of praise in the internet, but my concern with the Tina guo is that it won't be flexible enough with different articulations, and also that it does not play at all possible octave/ranges, and additionally I'm not sure whether the Tina Guo cello would fit in well in a string quartet scenario or with the Joshua Bell, etc.? These would be lovely in a sparsely arranged slower piano centered piece I think. The more I listen to these solo strings, the more I seem to come under their spell. I think I’d use these slightly more upfront in a mix though, than some of the others that in my mind are suited more to “padding” type roles. Good question and cool answers and insights and view this very much as a textural library, so in a sense like some of the Spitfire libraries that were mentioned and Wrongtools’ recent equally lovely Feathersome Strings, Waverunner Audio’s Struttura and little diamonds like that.
